Somer Valley Enterprise Zone Voluntary Land Acquisition at Boxbury Lane
The Somer Valley Enterprise Zone
(SVEZ) is a proposed mixed-use commercial development located at
Old Mills to the north-west of Midsomer Norton. The Council is
promoting a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) to acquire the
necessary land to deliver the SVEZ. However, the Council remains
committed to securing voluntary agreements with landowners wherever
possible, to minimise the need for compulsory acquisition. Under
Decision E3557, authority was delegated to the Executive Director
of Sustainable Communities, in consultation with the Section 151
Officer to:
•Enter into agreements with landowners to secure the
withdrawal of objections to the CPO(s).
