Cabinet Project Lead for Highways– Cllr Lucy Hodge

 

Roles and Activities

 

·  Develop and lead the Transport Improvement Programme (TIP), one-off TIP plus schemes and Highways Maintenance work programmes, within the Highway’s portfolio area and enable the administration’s priorities in these areas to be delivered.

·  Undertake research relating to the delivery of TIP/Highways Maintenance including bench marking against other Local Authorities.

·  Help to promote specific media opportunities relating to key projects relating to TIP/Highways maintenance.

·  Attend meetings in relation to the TIP/Highways Maintenance delivery with Officers delivering these projects in addition to those requested by the Leader/Cabinet Member for Highways

·  Liaise where appropriate, with non-executive members, senior officers and WECA officers to ensure that the Cabinet/Cabinet Member is fully aware of issues related to the portfolio area.

·  Liaise with outside bodies, partner organisations, service users and members of the public in relation to portfolio responsibilities if required.

·  Champion the vision and interests of the Cabinet on these specific highway projects.

·  Assist the Cabinet Member to manage their workload and deal with such issues or projects (whether long-term or time limited) as shall be agreed with them (recognising the Leader’s role in managing issues of capacity and priority.)

·  Be responsible for personal development and undergo appropriate development and continuous improvement through any appropriate means, including such mentoring support arrangements as the Council (through the Leader) may provide.

·  Maintain communication with ward members, Cabinet leads, B&NES Officers, WECA and other key stakeholders.

 

·  Provide a timely and informative response to all ward members to enquiries relating to TIP priorities and Highways maintenance.

 

·  Ensure Lib Dem Group members are fully informed on progress with delivering both their ward priorities and the administration’s priorities more generally in relation to the TIP and Highways maintenance programme.

 

·  Meet regularly with Cabinet lead (2 weekly to monthly) as required.

·  Meet regularly with key Council Officers to enable delivery

·  Additional temporary role – project lead on City Centre Waste Management, within the Neighbourhoods Portfolio
