Election of Chair

Minutes:

On a motion from Councillor Dine Romero, seconded by Councillor Sarah Bevan, it was agreed that Councillor Tim Warren would chair the meeting.

Apologies for Absence

Minutes:

Apologies were received from Councillor Jonathan Carr who was substituted by Councillor Lin Patterson.

Emergency Evacuation Procedure

The Chair will draw attention to the emergency evacuation procedure as set out under Note 6.

The Chairman drew attention to the emergency evacuation procedure as set out on the agenda.

Declarations of Interest

At this point in the meeting declarations of interest are received from Members in any of the agenda items under consideration at the meeting. Members are asked to indicate:

(a) The agenda item number in which they have an interest to declare.

(b) The nature of their interest.

(c) Whether their interest is a disclosable pecuniary interest or an other interest,  (as defined in Part 2, A and B of the Code of Conduct and Rules for Registration of Interests)

Any Member who needs to clarify any matters relating to the declaration of interests is recommended to seek advice from the Council’s Monitoring Officeror a member of his staff before the meeting to expedite dealing with the item during the meeting.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of 10th May 2016 be confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

Exclusion of the public

RECOMMENDATION That, having been satisfied that the public interest test would be better served by not disclosing relevant information, and in accordance with the provisions of Section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business because of the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act as amended.

This report seeks the Committee’s agreement to the proposed dismissals by reason of redundancy in the individual case(s) presented and the consequential proposed severance payments.  The exempt appendix will be circulated under separate cover.

Minutes:

The Head of Human Resources & Organisation Development drew Members’ attention to the key points in the report, and exempt appendix, which had been circulated. He also invited the Divisional Director – Community Regeneration to supply background information relating to the service proposal.

 

On a motion from Councillor Dine Romero, seconded by Councillor Tim Warren, it was

 

RESOLVED that the proposal is approved, and the Chief Executive be given

delegated authority to take all steps necessary to implement it.
