Purpose:
Kingsmead Square was allocated £10,000 provision approval in the 2017/18 budget, full approval is being sought. The feasibility study will establish options for public realm improvement with potential changes for access into Kingsmead Square.
Decision:
The Cabinet Member agrees that the £10,000 provisional approval in the 2017/18 Budget be given full approval in order to undertake a feasibility study.
Reasons for the decision:
The feasibility study will assist in delivering Council Policy set out in the Public Realm and Movement Strategy, Getting Around Bath Transport Strategy and Placemaking Plan.
Alternative options considered:
A wider traffic modelling exercise in the city centre is due to be undertaken during 2017/18 and, whilst Kingsmead Square is covered by the traffic model, it would not include the level of detail covered in the feasibility study.
