Decision details
London Road £200,000, Full Budget Approval
Decision Maker: Cabinet Member - Transport
Decision status: Approved
Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: Yes
Purpose:
London Road was allocated £200,000 as a provisional approval in the 2017/18 budget, full approval is being sought. Experimental TROs were introduced in late 2015 and permanent TROs now need to be implemented.
Decision:
The Cabinet Member agrees that the £200,000 provision approval in the 2017/18 Budget be given full approval in order to resolve the TROs and improvement works.
Reasons for the decision:
Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders have been used to assess how the current on-road cycling facility and parking/ loading restrictions have performed under the Road Traffic Act 1984. These will expire 16th June 2017 and 11th November respectively, preventing continuing legal enforcement, which could lead to traffic violations. Resolution of these TRO’s will be required through a Single Member Decision in advance of the above dates.
The performance of the scheme and comments received during the period of the experimental Traffic Regulation Orders will be reviewed and where it is deemed beneficial improvement works will be implemented within the budget approval.
Alternative options considered:
None, the review will assess options for improvement.
