The Cabinet Members confirm the decision to implement the new reduced evening charge in Charlotte Street car park in line with the attached schedule.
The Cabinet Members note the impact on the Parking Services budget that the implementation of the new charge will have and approves the virement of funding from the Heritage Services cost centre.
Reasons for the decision:
The implementation of an evening charge will help support the evening economy, increasing usage and turnover.
Alternative options considered:
To retain the previous charges – this was rejected as the reintroduction of the evening charge was seen as a good initiative to support both businesses and events in the evening period.
