Purpose:
To agree the school term and holiday dates for the 2014-15 Academic Year
Decision:
(1) To ADOPT the School Term and Holiday dates for the 2014-15 academic year;
(2) To ACKNOWLEDGE that good school attendance and the link with good outcomes for children and young people; and
(3) To SUPPORT schools in encouraging parents to take holidays out of term time.
Reasons for the decision:
The dates will ensure where possible terms are of equal length which improves learning opportunities for children and young people
Alternative options considered:
To set dates which are being set by our neighbouring authorities.
