Purpose:
To deliver a Best Start Family Hub in Twerton,
to provide better family support, increased access to early
education and childcare and improve quality in early years and
reception aged provision.
Decision:
To fully approve £102,000 capital
funding, fully funded by DfE Grant
Alternative options considered:
A review of other properties in the area was
undertaken and/or venues which are already occupied by other
organisations to see if there was space from which to deliver Best
Start Family Hub services. There are currently three Children and
Family Centres situated in Keynsham, Radstock and Bath City Centre
but there is no physical building in the Bath West area.
The property at Dominion Road, is a former children's
centre/nursery site and is situated in the centre of Twerton and
considered to be the best option to meet the community needs of the
Bath West area.
