Purpose:
Purpose : To lease a new electric vehicle to
transport retail stock from Locks brook Court to Bath retail
outlets, maintaining sales targets and operational efficiency.-.
Leasing offers a flexible, sustainable solution aligned with
environmental goals and avoids the upfront capital commitment of
purchase. By leasing through council fleet services there will be
an annual saving of £1800
Decision:
To enter into lease agreement for the lease
value of £3,600 per annum over 5 years, through extension of
the Vehicle Replacement Programme
Alternative options considered:
1. Do nothing: The current vehicle lease
expires in 2026 and therefore action is needed to ensure continuity
of supply
2. Purchase a Van - this would create financial risk of uncertain
residual value in the still-developing second-hand EV market and
require capital commitment.
