Purpose:
2025 is the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's
birth and Bath has many celebrations across the city throughout the
year. The annual Jane Austen parade takes place on the 13th
September 2025. The winning couple's ceremony take place following
the parade on the 13th September on the bandstand in parade gardens
Bath. The Bath and North East Somerset registration service and
council support this anniversary and the celebrations throughout
the city. To entry the competition, a couple must say what their
love story would be called if it were a novel.
Decision:
To approve and support providing a competition
to win a regency style marriage or renewal of vows ceremony to take
place on the 13th September 2025 in Parade Gardens Bath.
