Purpose:
To refurbish council owned commercial property
to secure future use. Where appropriate, properties will be adapted
to reflecting the changing uses of the high street subject to
securing the relevant statutory consents. Improvements to fire
safety and energy efficiency of properties will be undertaken as
part of works to individual properties through measures such as LED
lighting and glazing upgrades
Decision:
To approve budget for works of
£2,744,705 and move the budget from provisional to
approved.

Alternative options considered: The proposals
have been reviewed to ensure repayment of investment from future
rents. Alternative option is to do nothing and retain void
units.
