Purpose:
The Council is progressing the development of
16 supported homes for residents with learning disabilities at
Englishcombe Lane. The project will provide high-quality, net-zero
modern accommodation and support for members of our community who
are sometimes forced to live far away from family and friends due
to the lack of such a facility in our area.
This decision is to release an additional £440k of capital
funding to proceed with detailed design to take the project to
final business case, based on contractor quotes and submission of
planning application.
Decision:
To fully approve £440k of capital
funding from the Provisional Capital Programme for Affordable
Housing to progress scheme to final business case.
Alternative options considered:
Not proceeding. However, not proceeding would
reduce the Council’s ability to meet housing delivery
requirements and statutory obligations to vulnerable
residents.
