Purpose:
As outlined in the annual report to Council, to secure independent assistance on options for future Council structure
Decision:
The Cabinet Member agrees that
(1) The requirement under Standing Orders for there to be two written quotations be waived in accordance with Section 8.6d of the Orders, for the reason set out in the report; and
(2) Mike Robinson be appointed.
Reasons for the decision:
The option of seeking some form of written quotations was discounted as it was not considered that any suitable alternative candidates would have been able to submit written quotations.
Alternative options considered:
It would have been possible to seek professional guidance from one of the larger management consultancy firms that specialises in organisational arrangements but it was considered that such advice would not be sufficiently knowledgeable about local circumstances and background.
