Purpose:
Seeking permission for the Council to become a
signatory to a new association to help administer the Great Spa
Towns of Europe UNESCO inscription.
Decision:
To agree that Bath and North East Somerset Council should become a signatory to the Great Spa Towns of Europe Association and adopt the Articles of that Association.
Reasons for the decision:
The Great Spa Towns of Europe Association is considered to be an effective and appropriate method of managing this partnership project.
Alternative options considered:
The main alternative option was not to become a member of this Association, which would have left the Council without voting rights in this partnership. There was no compelling reason to do this.
