Temporary Accommodation Scheme (Update)
Decision Maker: Director of Regeneration & Housing
Decision status: Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To increase the capital budget for the
development of the Temporary Accommodation Schemes (Theobald House
& Crescent Gardens) due to increased costs. These increased
costs can be attributed to a combination of: construction delay due
to emergency usage of building during pandemic; construction cost
inflation; discovery of poor ground conditions requiring piling;
and significantly improved energy efficiency measures.
Decision:
To increase the approved Supported Housing
Scheme Budget to £1.351m which will provide 14 units of
supported temporary accommodation for homeless families. This being
funded by a combination of: the Council’s Affordable Housing
Grant; use of Government funding and service supported
borrowing.
Alternative options considered:
Do nothing. However, this would leave a
funding shortfall for the project which would need to be
cancelled.
