The programme for the preparation and review of Planning Policy documents needs to be updated.

The Cabinet Member agrees;

a)  the amendments to the Local Development Scheme set out in the amended Local Development Scheme in Attachment 1 to the report, with the following further amendments;

i.  Sustainable Construction & Retrofitting SPD to be adopted in January and not May 2022

ii.  The Spatial Development Strategy milestones are now Draft Plan in Feb 2022, Submission in Autumn 2022, Inspector’s Report in Spring 2023, Adoption in Autumn 2023

b)  That the revised Local Development Scheme should come into effect on 5th July 2021,

c)  To delegate to the Head of Planning the authority to make any necessary editorial changes, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning, prior to the Local Development Scheme coming into effect.

To ensure that the Council’s programme for the preparation and review of planning policies is up-to-date in line with statutory requirements.

Preparation and maintenance of a LDS is a statutory requirement.
