Purpose:
Proposal to increase maximum fares allowed to be charged by licensed Hackney Carriages for journeys within B&NES.
Decision:
The Cabinet Member agrees that the current tariff rates can be increased by 2.9% subject to the required public consultation.
Reasons for the decision:
The tariff was last reviewed and increased in 2018. In determining the proposed increase in the tariff rate the percentage increase in the cost of owning a vehicle and the percentage increase of wages, provided by the Office for National Statistics, since the last increase, have been used. This current calculation was produced from the figures taken from April 2018 to April 2019.
