Decision details
Bear Flat Resident Parking Scheme (WL)
Decision Maker: Cabinet Member - Transport and Environment
Decision status: Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: Yes
Purpose:
In order to progress to advertising the TRO for the proposed residents parking scheme we need a Single Member Decision to do so in order that we’re being consistent with our published resident Parking process for dealing with these schemes.
Decision:
The Cabinet Member agrees that the Bear Flat Resident Parking Zone Proposal (Rev. E) is taken forward to progress through the formal Traffic Regulation Order procedure and publicly advertised.
Reasons for the decision:
This decision has been made as the proposals were developed in response to concerns expressed by local residents regarding the parking situation in the Bear Flat area, and the proposed parking and loading restrictions have been designed to address these concerns. It was also felt that the concerns raised by Councillor Shaun McGall over the 3 properties on Bloomfield Avenue which fell into the Oldfield Ward was addressed within the Addendum to this Single Member Decision Report and showed that these properties were consulted and given the opportunity to comment during the drop in day event in the Bear Flat Methodist Church. The Single Member Decision date was also put back from the 6th September to the 15th September to allow this Addendum to be considered.
Alternative options considered:
None.
