Purpose:

Whether to install various changes and additions to the restrictions and limits around the centre of Radstock as part of the redevelopment works

Decision:

The Cabinet member agreed to implement the proposals as advertised

Reasons for the decision:

In accordance with Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the proposals are designed to ‘facilitate the passage on the road of any class of traffic and pedestrian’, and to ‘avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or to prevent the likelihood of any such danger arising’.

Alternative options considered:

A previous proposal was originally suggested in 2011.  This went through to the full consultation on-site and in the local press, but was later amended to the current proposal on the basis of traffic modelling.
