Purpose:
To consider objections received to the implementation of vehicle turning bans and motor vehicle restrictions at the junction of Wellsway and Hatfield Road (East) Bath
Decision:
The Cabinet Member agrees that
· The movement and turning bans at the junction of Wellsway and Hatfield Road (East) should be implemented as proposed.
· The Hatfield Road (East) contra flow cycle lane eastbound should be implemented as proposed.
· A separate report should be brought forward at a later date for the lead Member to consider other objections received to the proposed bus lane, waiting and movement restrictions on Wellsway and Hatfield Road (West).
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal to introduce vehicle turning bans and a no motor vehicles order on Hatfield Road (East), is to improve road safety, congestion and pollution for all who use or live near Wellsway.
Alternative options considered:
This scheme has been informally consulted over a period of years and other options were considered during this period
