Purpose:

Carry out feasibility and development to create the full business case relating to the delivery of the following assets:
1. Additional indoor and outdoor fitness spaces resulting in a large increase in physical activity
2. Improved facilities for families with young children, especially those from priority areas, to include Padel Tennis, outdoor fitness areas and walking trails

Decision:

To fully approve £242k split funded by £95k corporate supported borrowing and £147k developers CIL

Alternative options considered:

1) Not undertaking the upgrades
2) Delivery of the build by GLL contractors T

These options are not being considered as the site currently makes a loss and mitigation of the loss of Culverhay facilities is needed. Carrying out the project directly ensures BANES has control of the build and budget, ensuring the needs of the local community are met and the loss of Culverhay is offset.
