Purpose:
Deliver the purchase of food waste containers
for the roll out of food waste collections to all properties within
the BANES area. From 31st March 2026 the Council is required to
provide food waste collections to all properties within the area.
Whilst food waste recycling has been introduced to the majority of
residents there are still a small number of properties within the
city centre that need a collections service established.
Decision:
To fully approve £9,148 of capital
budget, fully funded by Government Grant
Alternative options considered:
No other options were considered as we have a
statuary requirement to deliver the project, as part of the work in
2024 the most appropriate method of service either doorstep of
communal collection points will be identified for each location.
Both of these options are expansions to the existing
service.
