Purpose:
Purpose:
North Keynsham Development Land is a sustainable location within
B&NES for significant housing growth to meet future housing
needs.
This decision is to agree to deliver the next phase of the project
which will develop the delivery strategy to allow comprehensive
development, undertake technical studies to support the development
of the masterplan and promote the site through the Local Plan
process. It will facilitate the delivery of highway infrastructure
and new homes.
Decision:
To agree to continue the project within the
remaining approved capital budget of £540k which is funded by
£448k grant from WECA and £92k corporate
borrowing.
Alternative options considered:
The Council could do nothing and leave it to
the market to bring the land and associated infrastructure forward
once viable to do so. This could stall development or bring it
forward in a piecemeal manner which is not in accordance with
emerging policy.
