Purpose:
To install solar panels on the roof of offices
at the Royal Victoria Park nursery site to reduce electricity costs
and help decarbonise B&NES corporate estate. Electricity usage
at Royal Victoria Park is increasing due to the electrification of
park equipment which requires more electricity to charge the
batteries.
Decision:
To fully approve capital budget of £60k
from the provisional capital programme for the Renewable Energy
Development Fund.
Alternative options considered:
Various options were assessed including doing
nothing, however the agreed proposals will help decarbonise the
estate and help meet the B&NES target of 12MW installed
renewable capacity on its corporate estate by 2030.
