To deliver on commitments made through S106
agreements to undertake mitigation work at Manor Road Woodland and
enhancements to green spaces at Teviot Road Open Space and Abbots
Wood. This will improve the health and wellbeing of residents, and
help address the climate and ecological emergencies. The work may
include replacement of end-of-life infrastructure and the
implementation of new facilities, such as: footpaths, access gates,
signage, footbridges, ponds, meadows and play facilities (at Teviot
Road) and ensure that existing facilities are safe to
use.
Decision:
To fully approve £517,763 of capital
budget, fully funded by S106 Developer Contributions
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - To not invest in site
improvements
This would require the return of funds to the developer and
increasing pressure on facilities at each of the three sites.
