Purpose:
The last shop re-fit at the Roman Baths was in
2010. The shop requires investment to continue deliver the annual
sales target. Increasing the available selling bays will deliver
increased sales.
Decision:
To fully approve capital amounting to
£50k from the provisional capital programme item Refurb of
Roman Baths Shop of £150k.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - Do nothing: This option was
rejected. This project delivers additional revenue, through
increased selling bays, to do nothing is not in the interests of
the Council.
Option 2 - A full refit: This option was rejected. A phased
approach is recommended. A full refit could not be delivered until
2024/5 and one year of additional revenue would be missed. The
phased approach has been designed to ensure phase 1 will be
compatible with future phases and not obsolete.
