Purpose:
An amendment is sought to the current Policy to inform new applicants and existing licensees of the Council’s statutory obligation to record decisions to refuse new or revoke existing combined Hackney Carriage & Private Hire drivers’ licences on the national NR3 database.
Decision:
To agree that an amendment can be made to the current Policy to inform new applicants and existing licensees of the Council’s statutory obligation to record decisions to refuse new, or suspend or revoke existing combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire drivers’ licences on the national NR3S database.
Reasons for the decision:
The recording of decisions taken by the local authority in respect of revoking, suspending or refusing any application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire drivers licence taken by this Authority is a statutory requirement. This amendment ensures that the local authority policy complies with its obligations to inform new and existing licensees of the implications for the sharing of personal data between the local authority and the nominated NR3S database.
