Purpose:
This project will create a new
learning/community/event hire space at the rear of the first floor
gallery in the Victoria Art Gallery. This multi-use space requires
a relatively low level of capital intervention to achieve but will
have a significant positive impact on the operations of the
Victoria Art Gallery. The project will allow us to widen the
audience that this significant community asset reaches as well as
cementing appeal for existing audiences and enhancing its
commercial potential.

Alternative options considered:
Do nothing: The current education facilities
at the Victoria Art Gallery are not up to the standards recommended
by experts and expected by users. External funding has been donated
to the Victoria Art Gallery for the purpose of this
project.
