Decision Maker: Director of Place Management

Decision status: Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

There is £777k unspent funding arising from 2021/22 Dft pothole allocations which will supplement the original 2022/23 Highways Maintenance Programme by approx. 10%
Further allocations to following workstreams are proposed :-

Asset Allocation Amounts
Maintenance Carriageways
Resurfacing £250,000
Planned Patching £277,000
Spray Injection Patching £100,000

Maintenance Footways
Asphalt Concrete Surfacing £100,000
Public Rights of Way Improvement £50,000

Total Allocation £777,000

Decision:

Approval £777k increase to 2022/23 Highways Maintenance Progamme

Alternative options considered:

There has been significant cost increases across the board on the original programme workstreams which this funding will enable full delivery. We have also considered the upfront work which has already taken place in early 2022 with carriageway resurfacing and planned patching programmes of work are both well advanced. This allows for further works to be delivered in the year, ideally in the warmer months of the year before the end of October.
