Purpose:
The Council has received £557k grant for
the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme for Cleveland Pools. The
purpose of the scheme is to help make sites more energy efficient
and install low carbon heating systems like heat pumps, heating
controls, glazing and insulation. This project is for the
installation of a Water Source Heat Pump to provide heat for the
Cleveland Pools. It will be delivered as a separate workstream
within a larger project for the development of Cleveland Pools and
led by the Cleveland Pools Trust who will be paid the grant
funding.
Decision:
To fully approve capital amounting to
£557k funded from Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme Grant
for Cleveland Pools.
Alternative options considered:
The project team for Cleveland Pools assessed
various options and arrived at a Water Source Heat Pump as the
preferred option based on its suitability for the constrained site,
including its adjacency to the River Avon.
