With the possibilities of fines being issued by the Government if waste levels are not reduced in Bath & North East Somerset this review contributes to the development of two (of ten) council improvement priorities, as stated in the Corporate Plan (2003-2007). The two priorities concerned with this review are the reduction of landfill, and improving the urban public realm (liveability) through street cleansing. Issues around waste management are looked at in this review, and the findings have been used to inform the Council Executive and Waste Service officers to inform their decisions on implementation of future plans.
