Document Affordable Housing (2003-2004)

At the time of this review Bath & North East Somerset Council developed a draft strategy that looked at the need for affordable housing in Bath & North East Somerset, including the needs of specific groups like key workers, older people and first time buyers. The Strategy set out the Council's priorities for the delivery of affordable housing over the next five years; identifying the resources needed for delivering the Strategy and how those resources may be accessed. The issue of affordable housing and the positive and negative aspects of this strategy were reviewed by the Housing and Community Safety Overview and Scrutiny Panel. The Panel's consultation included focus groups of those local people who are specifically affected by this issue and close discussions with key worker organisations.
