QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS - PUBLIC

01

Question from:

Agnes Melling

i) Would the Trustees confirm that the reports in the Press re Bath Rugby's decision to "rethink" their plans to build a new stadium on the Rec are accurate?

ii) What is the significance (legally) of their intended application for a 125 year lease?

Answer from:

Councillor Chris Watt

i) It is for the Bath Rugby Club to comment on their plans.

ii) Any changes in the terms of the lease must be approved by the Charity Commission who will weigh the benefits against the detriments to the Trust of any new proposals. The Trustees will not propose any changes that do not deliver a net benefit to the Trust and the Charity Commission is unlikely to approve any proposal that does not demonstrate a net benefit.

02

Question from:

Agnes Melling

i) Of the 30 places marked out in the North car park, how many will be available to the public, and how many to the Rugby players (in the season)?

ii) What charges will be made?

Answer from:

Councillor Chris Watt

The Rugby Club pays for 20 all day passes and 30 passes for lunch time parking, this is charged at a commercial rate. There is no parking for members of the public, only parking authorised by the Trust is allowed and in connection with a legitimate (and booked) activity or as part of a commercial arrangement such as that with the Rugby Club.
