4 THE REPORT

4.1 Car Parking

The line marking of the Tarmac car park in the North area of the Recreation Ground took place during February, and has provided 32 marked bays.

The process of obtaining a Traffic Regulation Order, regulated by permits has commenced. As previously advised and at the appropriate stage public notices will issued.

4.2 Tree Works

In the corner of the Recreation Ground by the Sports Centre, two dead pollarded willows were felled and two willows were re-pollarded. The trees felled were in a very poor condition and were removed in the interest of health & safety. The re-pollarding was carried out to the willows as part of routine maintenance to prevent the canopies becoming too large at this location. As required under the Town and Country Planning Act, the felled trees will be replaced before the end of the next planting season - March 2010. It is also proposed to prune the Lime trees by the Tennis Courts and along that side of the Recreation Ground.
