'The Centenary of Statutory Allotments':

'B&NES Allotments Association is organising a programme of events to celebrate the centenary of both the 1908 Smallholdings and Allotments Act, which is still in force, and the establishment of the first statutory allotment in Bath, at Larkhall. We will in due course circulate the full programme to councillors, but we would like to invite you and your colleagues now to attend the first event, which is on Thursday, 13th March, at 6.30 pm, at the University. Dr. Richard Wiltshire, who is adviser to the Department of Communities and Local Government on allotment management, will be talking about his research on urban allotments in Japan and the UK, but he has also offered to take questions about the latest edition of the guidelines on allotment management which he has co-authored for the DCLG and the Local Government Association.'

Thanks for your help,
