BATH SPECIAL SCHOOL PROJECT

The Panel considered a report providing the background information on the Bath Special School Project and wished the following to be passed onto the Council Executive:

The Panel Commented:

(a) That the consultation process was thorough and that staff had been involved at an early stage;

(b) One Panel Member that attended the Project meetings stated that Fosseway School and the possible effect on them was always raised at these meetings;

(c) Two generic schools in Norton Radstock and Bath would provide Bath and North East Somerset with complementary special needs provision

The Panel Recommended:

(d) That the preferred course of action be that stated in 3.1 of the report - `The Bath Special Project involves the closure of Summerfield, Lime Grove and Royal United Hospital Schools and `fusing' them into one new school to be located on From Road, Bath';
