13/11/2020 - RULE 4 and RULE 16 - COVID19 Business Support Grants: Additional Restrictions Grant Policy ref: 1461    Approved

The government has announced a further Covid-19 business support funding package to be administered by Local Authorities. The funding is available either at the point the area enters tier 3 local restrictions or on the imposition of national restrictions. National restrictions came into effect on 5th November 2020 triggering the need to implement the business support schemes in all Local Authority areas.

The Cabinet Member agrees to:

 

1)  Approve the Additional Restrictions Grant scheme policy as set out in Appendix 1.

2)  Delegate the application of the grant fund to the Director of Finance, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Resources, the CX, and the Monitoring Officer to ensure the grant is distributed within the £3.866m government funding, with fair distribution across the eligible business groups.

09/11/2020 - Public Tennis improvements in Bath and North East Somerset ref: 1460    Approved

As part of a wider tennis strategy this decision moves provisional funding in the capital programme to fully approved to enable the refurbishment of a number of public tennis courts in Bath, Keynsham, Chew Valley and Saltford. The courts will then be managed in financially sustainable way in the future including use of web based booking systems to generate income. The funding comes from grants obtained by the Council and CiL funding with no Council funding required.

06/11/2020 - Bath Western Riverside ref: 1459    Approved

The purpose of this decision is to:

1) Authorise the Wales & West Utilities gas rationalisation purchase order in line with the executed contract terms for the remaining contract value of £4,170,000, that being the full contract value of £5,560,000 less deposit monies paid of £1,390,000.

2) Authorise the progression and execution of a supporting agreement with National Grid Property Twenty-Severn Limited, a third-party landowner at the Bath Western Riverside development site, to secure a fixed funding contribution towards the gas rationalisation works and land swap obligation in order to create independent development plots for each party at 6 years from agreement entry, conditional upon completion of the gas rationalisation works.
