Purpose:
To fund capital purchases for the Active
Travel Prescribing project to be based in the Somer Valley for a
range of schemes aimed at boosting health and wellbeing through
active travel with the support of health and active travel
professionals. The scheme will actively promote increased levels of
physical activity through cycling and walking.
Decision:
To fully approve capital amounting to
£144.6k for Active Travel Social Prescribing to be funded
from revenue contribution.
Alternative options considered:
We could decide not to proceed with the
project however the residents of the Somer Valley would not benefit
from the activities it will provide.
