Purpose:
The council undertakes to ensure school
buildings are fit for purpose and provide safe secure
environments.
Condition Surveys carried out at Twerton Infants School found the
single glazed aluminium frame windows, doors and curtain walling to
have exceeded anticipated life cycle. The Condition Survey
recommended replacement of the windows, doors and curtain walling.
This project will improve the overall energy efficiency of the
school buildings, help reduce the school's energy costs and provide
a safe and comfortable learning environment for the children.
Decision:
To approve capital expenditure of
£584,000 funded from Schools Capital Maintenance Grant
provisionally approved in the 2021-22 budget report to replace the
windows and doors at Twerton Infant School.
Alternative options considered:
None. This project is recommended as planned
replacement of the old and inefficient windows and doors at Twerton
Infant School.
