Public Realm (2005-2006)
The improvement of the Urban Public Realm is one of the improvement priorities defined in the Council’s Corporate Plan. In 2005-2006, the Planning, Transport and Environment Panel assessed the current plans and policies and a public consultation session was used to inform and widen the debate around the future direction of the urban public realm in Bath and North East Somerset.
The potential for further public realm projects have also been discussed in this review. Best practice in this area was reviewed on issues that are relevant to Bath & North East Somerset, such as historical context, similar urban & rural mix or a corporate priority to enhance the public realm.
