Decision details

Naming of Streets in Keynsham Redevelopment Site

Decision Maker: Cllr Katie Hall

Decision status: Recommendations approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

The decision was the subject of a valid Call-in.  The Planning, Transport and Environment PDS Panel considered the Call-in at a meeting on 25th July 2014 and asked the Cabinet member to reconsider the original decision. The Cabinet member made the reconsidered decision on 1st August 2014.

Decision:

The Cabinet Member decides not to object

Reasons for the decision:

The Developer found names put forward as part of the public consultation unacceptable and has therefore proposed a single name for the street created as part of the new development.  In light of the concerns expressed about the Developers choice of name it is necessary for a decision to be made on whether to object to the proposal.

Having given consideration to the consultation responses, the Cabinet member has decided that there is no ground for objection against the proposal.

Alternative options considered:

The options available were to object or not object to the name ‘Market Walk’
