Decision details

Charging for detailed drainage advice for major and minor developments

Decision Maker: Cllr Caroline Roberts, Cllr Paul Crossley

Decision status: Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

Enable the Authority to charge for advice in respect to drainage proposals for new planned developments and the installation of SUDS

Decision:

The Cabinet Members agree that charges for detailed drainage advice for major and minor developments should be implemented.

Reasons for the decision:

This approach is beneficial and effective as it will provide applicants with full information at an early stage in the process to enable them to make an informed decision about their proposals and to ensure that the correct information is submitted as part of the application process.

Alternative options considered:

None – Applying these charges brings us in to line with the Environment Agency and Water Utility Companies who charge for similar advice in their respective areas of drainage responsibility.
