Purpose:

Whether to install a variety of parking restrictions along the length of Weston Park East, as part of the redevelopment of the Cranwell House building, Royal High School

Decision:

The Cabinet Member agrees that the proposal is introduced as advertised, but with the following exceptions:-

·  To create 3 unrestricted parking bays on the east side of Weston Park East.

·  To extend the proposed unrestricted parking bay near Weston Park Court for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.

Reasons for the decision:

In accordance with Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the proposals are designed to ‘facilitate the passage on the road of any class of traffic and pedestrians’, and to ’avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or to prevent the likelihood of any such danger arising’.

Alternative options considered:

Following the formal consultation process, the layout has been changed slightly.  Four extra areas of unrestricted parking have been added along the road at the request of the local residents.
