Decision details
Asset of Community Value - Moles Bath
Decision Maker: Director of People & Change
Decision status: Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
This new Community Right (sometimes called the
“Community Right to Buy” or “Community Right to
Bid”) allows defined community groups, including Parish
Councils, to ask the Council to list certain assets as being of
“community value”. This is designed to give communities
more opportunities to take control of the assets and facilities
important to them.
The process for the received nomination was completed and recorded
on the B&NES Council website.

Decision:
The nomination of Mole Music Venue in Bath was
not successful.
Unfortunately, because the application we received for Moles to be
made an asset of community value didn’t meet the criteria
(which are set out in national legislation), it wasn’t
successful.
However, we have informed the nominating body that we remain open
to receive a new application.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1 - List as a nominated asset
Option 2 - Decline the nomination for listing
