DECISIONS TAKEN BY THE WEST OF ENGLAND JOINT WASTE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE AND NOW SUBJECT TO CALL-IN

The decision below was taken by the West of England Joint Waste Management Committee at its meeting on 27-May-09.  If not Called-in by any of the partner authorities, the decision will be implemented in due course.

E1922 Joint Waste Strategy Phase 2 contract: Contract award

At its meeting on Wed 27-May-09, the West of England Joint Waste Management Committee awarded the Phase 2 Joint Waste Management Contract to Company A, subject to Call-in.

The Call-in period for Bath & NE Somerset Councillors will elapse on Friday 05-Jun-09.

The decision of the Joint Committee was as follows.

The Joint Waste Management Committee:

1. Noted and approved the outcome of the evaluation of the Phase 2 tendering process.

2. Agreed to award the Phase 2 contract to the Tenderer detailed in the exempt Appendix 3 to the report on the basis of the Variant Bid tonnages, as their tender had been shown to be the Most Economically Advantageous Tender, subject to the satisfactory provision of the requisite Performance Bond.

3. Noted the risks outlined in the report and exempt Appendix 3 and asked officers to bring forward to the next meeting of the committee, a project implementation plan, which outlines the key dates and milestones and the actions which both the Partnership and the successful Tenderer will take to maximise the potential for successful implementation and mitigate risks.

4. Requested all four Partnering Authorities (Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Councils) to formally seal the Phase 2 contract with the successful Tenderer.
